North America Shared Services (NASS) is a multi-location centre of excellence delivering financial services and capabilities for North America in partnership with our managed services providers. Services are provided to all PepsiCo divisions in the US and Canada.

NASS has two campuses located at the PepsiCo Legacy Campus in Plano Texas, and the PepsiCo Customer Service Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The North America Shared Services (NASS) Accounting Services Control & Reporting Associate Accountant role will be located in Plano and responsible for providing control support for Global Ecommerce, Global Groups, and PepsiCo Global Real Estate Horizontals. Policies have been recently developed to support the classifications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the tasks below:
Period Close:
  • Prepare and process period journal entries in accordance with period calendar deadlines. Prepare intercompany invoices where necessary.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of financial results by identifying, preparing, and processing accrual entries by the stated period close deadlines. Additional YE responsibilities include in-depth analysis of supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure spending is correctly accounted for in accordance with GAAP and PepsiCo policy.
  • On a period basis, identify significant variances, research and document explanations. Summarize and communicate findings to management for period close analytics.
  • Review divisional CIP and work with Project Managers and Fixed Asset Accountant to determine when assets should be placed in service if needed.
SOX:
  • Review all Capital transactions < $50M to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Ensure reconciling items between Project Accounting and GL greater than $10,000 are researched and resolved within 3 period closes.
  • Ensure all journal entries are appropriately authorized and adequate supporting documentation is attached.
  • Ensure SOX documentation is kept current for processes related to primary role responsibilities.
Reporting:
  • Prepare timely and accurate period and quarterly financial reporting packages.
Accounting:
  • Provide accounting guidance to business partners, including proper classification of G&A/A&M spend.
  • Review Contracts/SOW’s and provide control approval.
  • Prepare applicable balance sheet reconciliations related to the Horizontal’s supported. Research discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner.
AOP:
  • Ensure AOP for business partners is loaded completely and accurately in SAP.
  • Ensure agreement with billing schedules and AOP for business partners.
​​Ad Hoc:
  • Assist Project/Cost Center Managers with research requests regarding charges to projects and cost centres, outstanding invoices, or PO status. Answer questions and analysis requests in a timely, accurate, and competent manner.
  • Assist Project/Cost Center Managers with questions regarding Project/Cost Center Setups/Intercompany transactions.
  • Provide comprehensive P&L flux analyses for quarterly external audit.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.
  • Proactively recognize when additional analysis would add value and suggest such analysis to management.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies related to the area of responsibility.
  • Provide control support in other areas as needed.​

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA/CPA Candidate
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting/financial experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • SAP FICO and Project Systems
  • Graduate Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Knowledge of PepsiCo businesses and processes
  • Public Accounting Experience
