Main Purpose of the Role
The Logistics Manager Belgium is a key function to ensure PepsiCo achieves the target service and on time delivery levels at lowest costs possible by driving management of the 3rd party warehouse and logistics providers. The scope is the Belgium and Luxembourg commercial market for the total PepsiCo food and beverage portfolio (incl. Lay’s, Quaker, Duyvis, Pepsi, Looza, Tropicana), with a total logistics budget of approximately 14MM and an indirect responsibility for several network flows for export beverages and juice (e.g. Nordics, Austria, Luxemburg).
Responsible for the logistics and productivity annual operating plan for Belgium (including Nordics/export business) with a budget of circa 12-14MM€.
Driving suppliers to deliver plan and productivity, monitored through monthly and quarterly performance reviews
Deliver clear operational volume forecasts and monthly follow up with finance
Prepares & evaluates the contracts and negotiates with the local suppliers about tariffs, indexation, productivities and with the 3 PL BNL productivity manager on strategic suppliers and tenders.
Responsible for the operational execution of the logistical and distribution operations (processes, service, controls, cost, quality) driving close weekly management:
Internally, ensuring all plants/co-man deliver perfect pallet quality, logistics capacity planning and forecasting, cooperative and proactive communication
Perfect track and trace program from all sources through 3PLs to customers, part of incident management team
Externally, ensuring top level KPIs: On Time performance, Picking & Stock Accuracy, Order Fill, CO2 Reduction (full truck optimization)
In cooperation with the Customer Service manager, total customer service levels (on time, in full, backhauling) tracking and improvement as well as customer adherence (e.g. backhauling performance)
Guide the process and system improvements in the logistics area especially connected to the 3PLs. This requires in depth understanding of End to End processes and close cooperation with external 3PLs, plants, co-mans, BIS (IT) and customers (e.g. on EDI/VMI). High cooperation with Customer Service Manager, SAP/IT teams, Demand & Supply Manager.
Executes logistics collaboration projects between 3PLs/Pepsico/Customers, evaluated logistics projects offered to but also requested and/or required by customers (e.g. change in delivery/DC network of customers, EDI or other IT system changes)
Is the key contact for logistics questions and must lead collaborative working in an internal and external matrix:
for the 3PL suppliers’ central point for questions and issues on operational inbound from all (<30 sources) and projects
questions and issues escalated by Customer Services agents or manager
long- and short-term transport capacity, handling across network of main 3PLs as well as backhaulers & sub-contractors
The manager is involved in horizontal collaboration initiatives with other parties (FMCG, non FMCG), for instance the chilled network with STEF – Nestle - PepsiCo
Functional service (on time performance) results will have a direct correlation to the results of the Advantage Group TAG Survey held annually among customers over all suppliers
Participate in PepsiCo Europe CS&L Warehouse and Logistics Network meetings to share best practices and processes, participate in logistics network

- A university degree is required.
- Service minded / accurate / problem solver
- Strong people manager / team builder / flexibility and able to cope with stress
- Proven leadership/people skills and experience (in supply chain for < 8 years).
- Strong business partnering skills & communication skills to interact with the various commercial functions (sales, and marketing), customers, partners (3PL’s and co-manufacturers), finance and sourcing functions (procurement and plants)
- Entrepreneurial attitude to drive performance and business growth
