This is a Location Flexible role with AMESA. The incumbent selected for the role will continue to be based out of their current location. Preferred location is: Egypt.

The overarching role of Commercialization is to enable PepsiCo to accelerate growth by rapid development and winning execution of ‘Fewer, Bigger, Better, Faster’ innovation.
This role is accountable for accelerating the Foods Category Innovation agenda across the AMESA Sector. Underpinning the Category model, this role will focus on overall governance of the Category Hopper / Pipeline, managing key Category-innovation programs including Lift & Scale initiatives and multi-market Create while ensuring forward compatibility and acting as a key docking point for Global Foods programs.
Key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Govern the Category Hopper / Pipeline with a deep understanding of health, risks, resources, unlocks and trade-offs required to deliver targets and ensure the right innovation portfolio choices are made to drive simplification & leverage
  • Program manage (including forward compatibility) the roll-out of key Category innovation programs and Lift & Scale programs – focus on complex multi-market programs, driving rapid speed-to-market and flawless execution. This involves leading cross-functional teams, owning end-to-end unlocks and overcoming any challenges so that an innovation can be launched
  • As part of program management, manage scope, timeline, risks, contingencies, costs and act as ‘single voice of truth’ to stakeholders via providing impartial view of project status to drive decision making
  • Lead ‘Create’ for multi-market innovations where forward compatibility is required
  • Support the Innovation Governance and process including Innovation Board, Stage Gate and Cockpit forums and manage innovation reporting via the Accolade system, ensuring high quality data inputs


Key Skills/Experience Required

  • Results-oriented with a high degree of personal initiative and leadership – can operate well within a low resource, fast-paced cross-functional environment
  • Very high level of business acumen - must be commercially & organizationally savvy and financially astute
  • Exceptional team leader with strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to influence at all levels and comfortable managing conflict
  • Proven commercial project leadership/management skills, ability to manage complex functional interdependencies in project timelines
  • Strong process thinker committed to driving process efficiency, strength in data analysis and interpretation in order to develop business recommendations
  • Deep knowledge of how to develop and launch FMCG innovations, including consumer ideation and Insights processes through to Make/Move/Sell capability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commercial, Engineering, Financial or related disciplines, 10+ years experience

Differentiating Competencies Required:

Due to the role’s cross-functional nature, a high level of organizational savvy is a must for this role. This position is highly visible and cross-functional in nature and will operate with management across a complex matrix of categories, BUs and functions.
Role reports into the Foods Category and Capability & Analytics Commercialization Lead. The role is expected to manage all day to day decision making and operational aspects, escalating to line manager for support as required
