The Business Process Control Analytics team is looking for a Sr. Analyst who is analytical, data-oriented and has the intellectual curiosity to understand processes across the various functions of PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA). The Sr. Data Analyst is expected to lead various analytics and reporting initiatives, develop creative reporting solutions that deliver impactful analytics and insights that enhance productivity and eliminate or streamline labor intense work. Project work will span all parts of our business, across all our categories and across diverse markets in the U.S. and Canada. This brings with it the potential to have a far-reaching impact on the way we operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-Lead projects to deliver valuable data-driven insights: Work with key stakeholders to analyze business opportunities and apply data science tools. Translate operational requirements into design elements in order to organize and present data in an actionable manner.
  • Interact with Sector Headquarters and Division locations on system improvements utilizing new tools & approaches; provide enhanced analytical capabilities; perform complex calculations on large data sets. Collaborate with Sales and Finance functions on ad-hoc projects. Work closely with the wider advanced analytics function to understand, evolve and deliver the key data-driven insights that will drive the business forward
  • Research, solve, and advise on technical issues: Apply detailed working knowledge of PepsiCo’s applications and their interaction between systems towards root cause problem-solving. Partner with internal stakeholders to demonstrate the value in data and outline the data needs of the advanced analytics function to drive change
  • Ensure data integrity: Implement and execute processes to audit data and back up automated tasks. Apply working knowledge of ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) to automate data ingestion tasks. Understand and comply with IT best practices and standards. Identify new sources of data that will help drive the analytics agenda forward
Skills & Capabilities:
  • The analytical mindset that can define or identify a problem, generate alternatives or solutions, evaluate effectiveness, provide recommendation and implement the chosen solution
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and techniques to support a rapidly-changing landscape of customer needs
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) in a relational database environment including MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Experience with Visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Spotfire, SAS)
  • Experience auditing / analyzing enterprise systems such as SAP and Oracle
  • Experience with Teradata, SQL Server, Alteryx, Trifacta, BusinessObjects, IDEA, SAS
  • Experience building and maintaining data analytic procedures and using them on multiple engagements
  • Broad understanding of IT, business process, accounting, auditing, financial analysis, forensic accounting and controls

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in a field related to statistics, finance, economics, computer science/engineering, information systems, data science, or a similar field
  • Analytical experience or equivalent business intelligence experience in support of the finance/accounting functions
  • Experience and strong expertise with Tableau, PowerBI or other BI data visualization software
  • Experience designing data-driven solutions for a business or organization
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with data and driving action/change through data-led recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience coding in multiple 4th generation languages (e.g., SQL, ABAP, Python, R)
  • Experience using Tableau extensions (NLG, Extract-Export, Write-Back, Alerts)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment and gain the cooperation of individuals across the organization
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Results-oriented with the ability to initiate and lead projects to completion
  • Innovative thinker with a focus on continuous process improvement
