Job Description

PepsiCo are looking for a fantastic individual to join the team and build on our digital business presence.
You’ll own and run a series of shopper & category insights programmes directly aligned to the eCommerce channel, including multi-channel shopping behaviour, define clusters of shopper pathway to purchase and decision hierarchies translating this insight into clear pictures of success within the Pureplay and eGrocery channel across key PepsiCo European markets.

This is a great opportunity if you have a passion for a digital agenda – you’ll work closely with the eCommerce commercial and perfect store teams and wider PepsiCo insights teams to obtain and generate actionable learnings from primary & secondary data sources. You will leverage internal & external data to identify new opportunities for eCommerce in Europe.

The role will be European focused on the 6 x key eComm markets, so will be closely aligned with the sector digital and local insights teams to ensure the new insight programmes are actioned and accelerate PepsiCo performance and cement our position as indispensable insight partners for our trade customers.

What you’ll get up to

  • Own the eCommerce European shopper insight agenda and budget, including shopper pathways to purchase, category analysis and online decision hierarchies. Lead these shopper insights projects from brief to delivery, working with external agency partners and drawing on internal insights teams to deliver ground-breaking insight projects.

  • Creation and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams in turning these insight programmes into 2021 pictures of success and define the metrics which matter as part of the Perfect eStore programme.

  • Liaise with eCommerce & wider sales teams to understand tailored insight needs and deliver insights, research & recommendations that support the teams in taking action with their customers that helps PepsiCo, the customer and the shopper

  • Consult with Global, Sector, Category and Consumer Insight teams to elicit key workstreams and forthcoming marketing, sales and insight innovation and lead plans to translate these into useful, actionable shopper-led plans for the eCommerce environment

  • Commission and land new primary research to fill key knowledge gaps

  • Integrate with advanced analytics teams to ensure that we provide a coherent joined up perspective on how Shopper thoughts and emotions are translating into actual behaviour in-store or online

  • In collaboration with the eComm Insights Lead, define the 2021 shopper insights programme, capabilities and resources required to continue this learning agenda.


Your experience and ability

  • Experience in developing & preparing insights projects with external agencies & internal resources.

  • Strong analytical skills - ability to synthesise, interrogate and integrate learning from multiple sources

  • Excellent project management skills – ability to co-ordinate several diverse stakeholders and to manage performance of external suppliers.

  • Aptitude to learn fast, to absorb and integrate new facts and methodologies into normal operating process.

  • Effective communication skills – accurately identifies the role of different stakeholders & tailors communication messages & style accordingly.

  • Challenge & Influencing Skills – experienced & effective at influencing and challenging senior internal stakeholders and agencies.

  • Strong presentation skills – comfortable presenting internally / externally to all levels

  • Good attention to detail and ability to spot potential problems and plan to avoid them in advance.

  • Flexible and responsive approach, prepared to discover new solutions to new challenges as they arise and remain tenacious in achieving the required result

The stand out candidate would have:

  • In depth experience of running complex shopper insight projects across multiple geographic locations involving a broad set of stakeholders turning complex questions into simple and actionable recommendations

  • Sound knowledge & experience of eCommerce & Digital business & operations

  • In-depth understanding of Category Management and ‘selling with insights’ principles

  • Proven success in key customer-facing role at PepsiCo or FMCG brand leader
