Job Description

Lead the GB Social Beverages Insights Agenda and propel growth through superior and differentiated analytics insights & foresights in five critical business areas:-

  1. Business Performance and Drivers

  2. Strategic Growth Plans

  3. Advanced Analytics

  4. Brand Equity Tracking/Demand Spaces

  5. Bottler (Britvic) Influence & Engagement

The candidate will lead the Insights Agenda for the GB, specifically:

  1. GB Business Performance & Drivers

  • Lead systemization of market share & marketing activity performance analysis - bring focus to performance metrics and clarity on cause of change (sub category, brand, competition, channel & customer) and drivers.

  • NPD Tracking – provide clarity on NPD performance and drivers identifying key issues/opportunities

  • Competitive Intelligence - bring focus to competitor strategy, initiatives, performance and drivers, to align on the “so-what” for PepsiCo

  • Drive deeper focus on performance and drivers in the out-of-home channel (pubs/bars/restaurants etc) helping to define strategy & growth opportunities

  1. Strategic Growth Plans

  • Situational Analysis - conduct category/portfolio/competitor/channel/customer/consumer/shopper analyses, synthesize key learnings and support identify/prioritise growth issues and opportunities for beverages during the annual integrated strategic planning process

  • Portfolio/Category Growth Strategy – help to identify portfolio growth opportunities through use of consumer segmentation and assessments of competitive strategy

  • Trends Identification & Tracking - identify and track key trends impacting our current and future business performance and the demand drivers

  • Forecasting develop robust models to facilitate share forecasting, innovation forecasting and channel forecasting

  1. Advanced Analytics

  • Growth Driver Model (GDM) Analyticswork with external partners, manage all aspects of modeling and support line manager to embed Media ROI recommendations in business across all drivers (brand, spend, channel, laydown, copy, in store synchronization).

  • Total Connection Planning – build audience insight optimization and evaluation, driving insight and ROI optimization across all areas of media planning

  1. Brand Equity Tracking/Demand Spaces

  • Leverage good working knowledge of Brand Health/Equity Tracking to input constructively into discussions and recommendations regarding Brand Equity

  • Leverage knowledge of Demand Space (or similar) framework to guide strategic discussions and innovation positioning

  1. Britvic Influence & Engagement

  • Lead the engagement of the GB insights agenda (plus bespoke projects as required) with critical stakeholders at Britvic, including Britvic Insights (Brand & Market), Category Management & Marketing to ensure PEP version of the truth becomes the currency of business

  • Lead the development of system selling stories & category visions, alongside Britvic, to ensure gold standard execution of all PEP initiatives

  • Become go-to expert for all Franchise System Insights and become the face of PEP insights in key business forums (Ops Meetings, Brand Reviews, Agency discussions)



  • Good experience and expertise across multiple standard continuous data sources, especially Nielsen/IRI & Kantar

  • Strong analytical skills, able to synthesise and integrate learning from multiple sources and see the connections in data, trends, events etc to generate insights

  • Good communication and presentation skills to distil complex data and information into actionable insights

  • Good knowledge of Consumer Insights principles, especially equity tracking, innovation testing and Demand Spaces deployment

  • Strong influencing skills to set the business agenda with senior PEP and BSD stakeholders - demonstrates track record in establishing analytic insights as a driver of growth and business success

  • Ability to combine data, judgement and experience to make effective decisions in complex situations and when there is a lot of uncertainty or ambiguity

  • Actively seeks and understands the input of others to gain broad alignment to ideas and effectively manages process to move teams towards a common goal

  • Strong drive for results, a proven self-starter who thrives on a broad remit and the opportunity to make a real impact

  • Some experience of Market Mix Modelling and in particular digital marketing effectiveness would be useful, but not essential
