Job Description

PepsiCo is establishing a Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data.

Enabling this program will:

  • Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout

PepsiCo’s systems:

  • Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics
  • Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations

This role will have a specific focus on driving capabilities around Program Alignment, Talent Management (career pathing), Innovation Roadmaps, creating remediating plans around the capability gaps within the Function itself, Headcount Integrations and more. This will be ensuring the Program is healthy & effective and will support the VP, Enterprise Data Governance Program Management with stakeholder material and engagements, as needed.

The scope within the Global Data Function: Enterprise Governance Program Management and Global Data Management & Operations on the Global Data Function.

Data Governance Framework:

  • Design/own the Enterprise Data Governance Framework & corresponding playbook & tool repository

Data Governance Strategy & Integration:

  • Own the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy and Roadmap; partner with the VP of Data Governance Program Management to build
  • Be the subject matter expert on data governance processes (e.g. SLAs, escalation processes) applied to various operating models in different regions with different system(s)/application(s)
  • Accountable for building and maintaining the entire view of PepsiCo System Landscape by Domain/Business Unit (i.e. PLM, MDM, ERP – Manufacturing, ERP- Order to Cash, Warehouse Management, Planning, Complaints, Quality)
  • Accountable for designing/building the appropriate Data Governance Steering Committee, Data Councils, and Data Communities and shaping the content/agenda for the cadence at the executive level; partner closely with the VP of Data Governance Program Management
  • Accountable for building and maintaining the tools/technology inventory of the Data Management Organizations (DMOs)
  • Partner with the VP of Data Governance Program Management and Human Resource around Lift and Shifts, dealing with headcount/reporting changes and roles and responsibility changes

Data Governance Advisory, Innovation and Intelligence:

  • Offer advisory to digital use-cases and/or initiatives when scoping/prioritizing data elements
  • Offer advisory on how to run data related projects (e.g. show the process to follow, the watch-outs, how to pinpoint the interdependencies, etc.)
  • Be the voice of data in IT architecture conversations and/or where initiatives/applications involving data and know when to bring in the Enterprise Data Stewards
  • Offer coaching to Business Leaders who have an interest in understanding the importance/processes of Data Governance

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience working in Data Management and Governance experience within a global CPG (Consumer Packaged Good) company; Strong data management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper data use / consumption, data quality, and stewardship
  • 8+ years’ experience working within or across relevant functional areas: (i.e. Sales & Marketing, Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Quality, or Finance)
  • 5+ years of increasing collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills to influence and collaborate across multiple levels, cultures and functions in the organization
  • 5+ years’ experience working in management consulting, or related
  • Exposure in a global work environment a plus
  • Knowledge of: Metadata Management Frameworks, Master Data Management (MDM) principles, Data Lineage, Data Reconciliation, Data Forensics, Data Certification ​
