Job Description

PepsiCo is establishing a Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data.

Enabling this program will:

  • Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout
PepsiCo’s systems:
  • Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics
  • Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations
Data Quality Strategy:
  • Construct the Enterprise Data Quality Strategy and roadmap as it relates to data production, aggregation and consumption layers by function(s) or by business unit.
  • Be the subject matter expert on data quality processes for the Enterprise Data Governance program.
  • Partner with the Enterprise and Business Data Stewards to facilitate and support Enterprise-wide data quality improvement initiatives based on Enterprise Data Quality Strategy and roadmap.
  • Establish the Data Quality Center of Excellence and lead a team of 3-5 onshore/offshore resources
Data Process Engineering & Documentation:
  • Partner with the Enterprise Data Stewards, the Business Data Stewards and data management organizations to document complete lifecycle processes for identified Strategic Data Elements.
  • Establish and maintain related business data specifications and requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and data standards.
  • Partner with business partners to create responsibility matrices for end-to-end processes that impact Enterprise level Strategic Data Elements.
  • Support the creation of lineage mapping document of different data elements that are handed over from one application to another, as they are identified and defined by the Data Governance team.
  • Develop and maintain data conceptual and logical catalogs and work with IT Group to develop or relate technical catalogs.
  • Responsible for the maintenance (i.e. creation, modification, deletion) of SDEs, in the Enterprise wide SDE glossary as well as in Alation/equivalent.
  • Document and maintain data calculation rules, data sourcing rules, data transformation rules and data lineage in a centralized data governance repository (and partner with the Data Management Organizations, as needed)
Data Quality Services:
  • Create Data Quality Starter package(s) tiered offerings for cost effectiveness
  • Partner with Information Technology and data business partners to implement data standards, business rules and Data Quality (“DQ”) issues and escalation procedures.
  • Partner with Information Technology to prepare profiling analysis with mean values, standard deviations and exception outliers of different data elements (DEs) as they are identified and defined by the Data Governance team.
  • Partner with Data Custodians, Business Process owners and IT to ensure data used for risk, financial, regulatory, operational and management reporting is fit for purpose.
Project Support:
  • Represent the Enterprise Data Governance team on projects across the organization.
  • Partner with IT to execute UAT on data quality related projects.
Data Quality Trends and Metrics:
  • Identify key trends and metrics on data quality issues and report on them, on a monthly basis to key stakeholders and/or advise Data Management Organizations appropriately



  • 8+ years of professional experience in Data Quality (DQ) Management and/or DQ issues resolution processes
  • 7+ years of experience working in Data Management and Governance experience within a global CPG (Consumer Packaged Good) company; Strong data management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper data use / consumption, data quality, and stewardship
  • Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents
  • Strong communicator who can explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, including high level decision makers
  • Experience working across the PepsiCo organization, ideally with multi-country or global implementation experience involving data
  • Knowledge of data quality reporting and metrics and issue resolution management, data attributes, and lineage documentation
  • Experience with relational databases, metadata modeling and taxonomy concepts
  • Data Management and Governance experience within a global CPG (Consumer Packaged Good) company
  • Experience working across the PepsiCo organization, ideally with multi-country or global implementation experience involving data
  • Knowledge of some of the key concepts around master data management, data standards and organizations
  • Strong Communication Skills/Able to Persuade/Influence Others at all Organization Levels and the ability foster lasting partnerships
  • Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements
  • Project Management experience (preferred)
